MASTRANTO ENSAMBLE

Mastranto nació en agosto de 2019 en Montevideo como resultado de la integración de músicos migrantes venezolanos con cantantes uruguayos, unidos por su amor por el canto coral y su deseo de fomentar la integración cultural latinoamericana a través de la música. El ensamble fue fundado y está dirigido por el maestro venezolano José Jesús Gómez.

El objetivo de Mastranto es presentar una propuesta de coro mixto que refleje las diversas identidades culturales de sus miembros y la integración de nuevos ritmos y géneros musicales. Su primera presentación tuvo lugar en noviembre de 2019 en el marco del XX Festival Coral de Navidad organizado por la Asociación Coral del Uruguay (Acordelur).

En febrero de 2020, Mastranto fue invitado a participar en el espectáculo «Tango Caribe» junto a la Banda Sinfónica de Montevideo, realizando exitosos conciertos en la ciudad, incluyendo una presentación en el prestigioso Teatro Solís, uno de los teatros más importantes del país.

Además, Mastranto ha participado en varios eventos importantes, como el concierto conmemorativo del centenario del nacimiento del maestro Mario Benedetti en octubre de 2020 y el Encuentro de coros Bicentenario «Batalla de Carabobo» organizado por Fundamusical Simón Bolívar en 2021. También participó en el Festival digital Latinoamérica Canta organizado por la Red Coral Argentina en julio de 2021.

Mastranto también grabó oficialmente su primer sencillo, «Esta Tierra», que está disponible en todas las plataformas digitales, así como varias producciones audiovisuales disponibles en su canal oficial de Youtube.

Mastranto was founded in August 2019 in Montevideo, Uruguay, by the Venezuelan maestro José Jesús Gómez, who has been since then the director of the group. The choir is the result of the integration of Venezuelan migrant musicians with Uruguayan singers, united by their love for singing and choral music and their desire to promote Latin American cultural integration through music.

Mastranto’s goal is to present a mixed choir proposal that reflects the diverse cultural identities of its members and the incorporation of new rhythms and musical genres. Their first performance took place in November 2019 at the 20th Christmas Choral Festival organized by the Coral Association of Uruguay (Acordelur).

In February 2020, Mastranto was invited to participate in «Tango Caribe», a show presented by the Montevideo Symphonic Band, with Mtro. Alberto Vergara as the guest conductor. They performed five successful concerts in different parts of the city, including the prestigious Teatro Solís, the most important theatre of the country.

Additionally, Mastranto has participated in several important events, such as the commemorative concert for the 100th birth anniversary of writer Mario Benedetti, in October 2020, and the Bicentennial Choir Encounter «Battle of Carabobo» organized by Fundamusical Simón Bolívar in 2021. They also participated in the digital festival Latinoamérica Canta, organized by the Coral Network of Argentina in July 2021.

Mastranto also officially recorded their first single, «Esta Tierra», which is available on all digital platforms, as well as several audiovisual productions, which are available on their official YouTube channel.
